HIGHLIGHT: ASA workshop at WARC: « Youth, Entrepreneurship and Innovation »
The Association of Senegalese State Department Alumni (ASA) on Wednesday, June 3rd, opened a four day workshop at the West African Research Center (WARC) meant to train young senegalese leaders and entrepreneurs to better empower them in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation.
The training workshop takes place at a time when job creation and job opportunities are being serious challenges for younger people in most african countries where up to 60 per cent of the populations are composed of young men and women facing the hurdles of unemployment and professional qualifications.
The organizing body, the Association of Senegalese State Department Alumni (ASA) was set up over a decade ago and gathers various recipients of the US State Department scholarships such as the Fulbright, the YALI (Young African Leadership Initiative, the International Visitors Leadership Program, IVLP……ASA benefits from the institutional support of the US Embassy in Dakar and the West African Research Center (WARC). Its first president was the current director of WARC.
The four-day training workshop is attended by 25 young leaders and entrepreneurs.
