HIGHLIGHT : Book Launch: Alpha Amadou Sy and Ibrahima Wane, editors: A l’Ombre des Voix ( L’Harmattan – Sénégal/CACSEN 2021)
On Saturday, Nov 27th, the newly released collection of short essays titled A l’Ombre des Voix (In the Shade of Voices) edited by the President of the Communauté Africaine de Culture/Section Senegal (African Community of Culture/Senegal Branch), Alpha Amadou Sy, and Professor Ibrahima Wane (UCAD) was presented to the public by the editors, the Director of the West African Research Center (WARC) and a representative of the Senegalese Ministry of Culture and Communication.
In a context of uncertainties resulting from the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the senegalese section of the African Community of Culture held a deep conviction: it is in time of trial and tribulation that humans work towards, and lay the foundation of their future.
As a result, many contributors offered papers to reflect on the pandemic, its consequences on mankind and seminal introspections on life and the future of humanity.
The event was widely covered by local media with an attendance of 58 people (in person and virtually).
