As part of an initiative spearheaded by Pr Ismael Montana, President of the West African Research Association (WARA), a delegation of Diaspora university faculty established in the United States, teaching and doing research in several american universities visited University Cheikh Anta Diop from August 3-5, 2022. During the visit, a pledge was made to work toward establishing stronger ties between UCAD and US higher learning institutions. 

The first MOU to be signed engaged UCAD and Northern Illinois University on the path of closer collaboration and was enacted virtually on January 26^th, 2023.

Yesterday, Wednesday March 22^nd, 2023, was for a delegation from CSUN, including Dean Yan Searcy and Professor Sylvia MacCauley, to report to the office of Professor Ahmadou Aly Mbaye, Rector of UCAD, for the final signature of the MOU.

The ceremony was attended by the Director of WARC, Professor Ousmane Séne, and high-ranking members of the office of the Rector. It should be noted that WARC played a major role to facilitate meetings and discussions for the two sides on both shores of the Atlantic. WARC also contributed substantially to the recent signing of an MOU between the Dakar-based UCAD and the University of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, USA)
