HIGHLIGHT: Book Launch: Giséle Raimondi Quenum: Construire une Cite de Paix (L’Harmattan -Senegal, Dakar, 2020)
Mrs Giséle Raimondi Quenum is a member of the Centre Africain pour l’Education aux Droits de l’Homme (African Center for Human Rights Education and Awareness), CAEDHU, a non-profit organization engaged in the promotion of human rights through education not only in Senegal but also in other parts of the continent.
The book, prefaced by Professor Amadou Mahtar Mbow, former Director General of the United Nations Education Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO), reviews the development of human rights in Senegal (and elsewhere in Africa) from independence to nowadays and inventories the major activities and initiatives of CAEDHU over the period.
The discussions focused on the history of the organization and the evolution of human rights with educational efforts all over the country and were moderated by the current CAEDHU president, M. Francois Mendy.
The event was held at the West African Research Center (WARC) on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 and was attended by 184 people including YouTube followers.
